Round Frame Tufting - Blue and White Flower

These beautiful pieces are made from dyed caribou hair which has been tufted onto tanned deer hide. I was taught my method by another Métis Artisan and I love to share my work.

Caribou hair tufting is a unique Subarctic Indigenous art form developed in the early 20th century by Dene and Métis women in the Northwest Territories (from The Virtual Museum of Métis History and Culture).

Approx 13cm (5.25") diameter in frame.
